The male factor
Since the first IVF baby 30 years ago IVF technology has been constantly evolving. Yet, the overall success rates have not improved substantially. Are we missing something? – Yes, the male factor. It has been estimated that sub-optimal sperm quality underlay 40-50% of infertility cases.
Mainstream medicine employs surgical procedures for the most severe forms of male factor infertility. Unfortunately, it offers no solution to less severe problems with testicular function and sperm quality, let alone improving the genetic strength of the otherwise normal looking sperm cells.
Based on the clinical trials which showed that acupuncture may improve various aspects of sperm quality and the success rates of IVF, we developed male specific treatment programs which usually run parallel to the woman’s support program.
